About the University
The institution was established in 1967 as Kabwe Teachers Training College, initially focusing on the training of Junior Secondary School Teachers. After four years, the then President of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda, renamed the college Nkrumah Teachers College in tribute to Kwame Nkrumah, the founding president of Ghana.
